Row Houses

I've been a bit quiet of late - a week in Germany visiting family and the ongoing loss of my muse following the collapse of my marriage have both contributed. I hope to get back into art soon because it takes me out of myself and gives me pleasure (once I get going!) and I need all the pleasure I can get at the moment!

I reluctantly began making some 'row houses' for a swap. They needed to be house shaped, between 1.5 and 2.5 inches wide and between 3.5 and 6.5 inches tall, be in autumnal grungy colours, and to have a face on them.

After looking at lots of scraps of card and lots of face images for a long time, this is what I came up with....

  1. Hang on in there lass, it will get better. Loving your houses, like the muted autumnal shades and the poignant faces :)

  5. Well, if those houses are any indication, you've found your muse. So sorry about your marriage. I hope this trip brings back a little spark to your life.

I just spent a few days with Beverly Gilbert at her home in Whidbey Island. I wish you could have been there -- that probably would have been wonderful for you.

  7. Sorry you are having a bad time just now.
The houses are excellent. I especially like that on some the roof sticks out at the side, and how textured the backgrounds look.

  9. Adrienne - I understand how sad it is when a long marriage ends, but I'm here to tell you that there is a new life waiting for you. Hang in there! Love the houses - think you found where your muse lives.

  10. I can only re-iterate what Deb said - I have personal experience of a very long marriage ending - but it really does get better, truly.

With all that has been going on I am amazed at how you managed to concentrate on making such magnificent houses - they truly are gorgeous
